There’s been some considerable online talk about what the RB26 needs for a service, and what the rest of the R34 GTR platform needs, so here’s a bit of a breakdown, with some information to allow you to do a complete fluids and filters service.

Engine Oil | 10w60 seems to be the go-to oil viscosity. RB engines love oil pressure, so putting this in will only help that. There’s a video from Andrew Hawkins at Motive Video here explaining it. My oil of choice is Fuchs Titan Race Pro S. | 5.5l | Opie Oils |
Gearbox (6 speed only) | The gearbox in the R34 GTR, is a 6 speed, V160, which is very similar to that found in the JZA80 Supra. This box requires an ATF fluid. A normal manual gearbox oil is no good for this. My oil of choice here is Amsoil Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid Signature Series ATF | 6l | Opie Oils |
Diffs (Non-VSpec) | The differentials in the R34 are in the front and rear. My oil of choice is Fuchs Titan Race SYN 5 75W-90 Fully Synthetic Gear Oil. If you upgrade/change your differentials, then please follow your differential vendor information for the oils and quantities. | 3l | Opie Oils |
Brake Fluid | The R34 brakes aren’t actually too bad for stock items. Quantity required is just over 1 litre, so it’s worth buying 2 litres and doing a full flush. My fluid of choice is Castrol SRF Racing DOT 3&4. | 2l | Opie Oils |
Coolant | The RB26 does take a fair amount of coolant, so you’ll need 8.5 litres do a flush and replace the coolant. My coolant of choice is Motul Auto Cool Optimal -37C Car Antifreeze Coolant | 8.5l | Opie Oils |
